As the end of the first century approached, Jewish Christians continued to face challenges not only from the government, but also within their communities. This opposition raised questions about Jesus: was He the promised Messiah of the Old Testament? Or was He another prophet?
In the wake of persecution, war, and an ever-changing cultural climate, John writes to remind believers that Jesus is God. He not only recounts stories and teachings not found in the other gospels, but also includes the meaning within the Scripture, all culminating with a choice: will you believe and find life? Or will you walk away from the Savior of the world?
This study features two books: John 1-10 and John 11-21, giving you two semesters of study. I recommend part one for fall and part two for spring.
