Next Bible Study: Stories from the Wilderness
A Study of the Israelites Journey from Egypt to the Promised Land
Starting: October 13, 2021 at Erin’s House
He knows your going through this great wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.
– Deuteronomy 2:7
The wilderness. It’s a place we wish we could avoid, but one that we often find ourselves as well. These are the places where life feels pathless, like we are wandering with no direction. These are the places where we feel dead, begging God to breathe life into us. These are places that feel isolating, alone and questioning if God is who He says He is.
But this wilderness journey is not simply a picture of hard circumstances in our life. If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that this world is broken and hurting. One of the best analogies I’ve heard is that all that we saw was under the surface and 2020 drained the lake. It exposed everything that was hidden. This journey through the wilderness is a picture of this life on earth: we have been redeemed, but we are not in the Promised Land yet. Life here on earth often leaves us with questions about who God is. But this study will show us who our Great God is. The One who goes with you through this Great Wilderness and because of it, you lack nothing.
The God of the Promised Land is the same God in the Wilderness.

Community
Hebrews 10:23-25 encourages us not to neglect meeting together and stir one another up toward love and good works. This happens in when we gather with other women with the Word of God between us. We encourage you to meet with a group of friends in person or join us live on Zoom on Tuesday nights for live teaching and virtual small groups.
Previous Bible Studies
The Gospel of John
This book is unlike the other three gospels in that it focuses on the deity of Christ. Instead of merely retelling the events of Jesus’ life, John gives us interpretation as well and shows how Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament. This study is broken into two 11-week studies: Chapters 1-10 and Chapters 11-21. All the teaching is available on YouTube or Seasons 1 & 3 of the Feasting on Truth Podcast.
Way Maker: An Advent Study Through the Book of Hebrews
Originally published for Advent, this study can be adapted for weekly study, taking one chapter a week. Jesus’ coming was more than giving us forgiveness of sins or to part the way before us. He came to part the divide between God and us, between us and heaven. Jesus is our Way Maker, and no other book gives us a more comprehensive view of Jesus this way than the book of Hebrews. This study includes:
- 13 readings through the book of Hebrews designed to bring your attention to Jesus as the Way Maker
- Two simple questions for each reading
- Space to journal a prayer for each reading
- Optional deeper study for each chapter
- Six devotionals to help further your understanding of the passages and provide encouragement
- A guided section to remember and reflect on the past year and see God’s character in your life.
- A companion podcast with teachings for each chapter (Season 2 of the Feasting on Truth Podcast)
Light & Life: A Study of Psalm 119
We hear it all the time: we need to read the Bible every day. But why is it so important that we know, understand, and apply this ancient book to our lives today? What’s in it for us??
In Psalm 119, we see over and over that God’s Word brings life, and it’s a light to guide us. These 176 verses give us the most comprehensive look at the power and benefits provided to us in Scripture, and the character of the One who spoke the Word into existence. This is not power that can be mustered up in our own human strength or learned from reading any other book. It is a power that can only come from God Himself. If we truly knew the power the Word of God has in our lives, we wouldn’t be able to put it down.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.“
Isaiah 55:10-11
